Have you noticed one of the new ‘slipstream’ features that’s been incorporated into QuickBooks Desktop 2024 to enhance the readability of your reports?
Introduced about a month ago, a new reporting feature allows you to add grid lines to separate data in your reports and make it easier to understand. The grid lines provide clarity and help with the presentation of reporting data by improving visibility.
Reports Released with Gridline Option
The new gridline feature has been made available for the following reports:
- Balance Sheet by Class
- Payroll Summary
- Profit & Loss by Class
- Profit & Loss by Job
- Profit & Loss Standard
The example below reflects the Profit & Loss Standard report, with and without gridlines.
Remember, these gridlines are optional; you can display them for any of the above-listed reports if you prefer to do so. The reports print without gridlines by default.
To Add Gridlines to Your Reports
To print any of the gridline-enabled reports (listed above), follow these steps:
(1) Go to Reports and open the gridline-enabled report you want.
(2) When the report is displayed, select Print.
(3) Choose the option to print Report with grid lines (illustrated below).
(4) Select Print.
