To protect users' accounts and to ensure that access to their data is secure, Intuit® is implementing a risk-based two factor authentication across all of their products, including QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Online Accountant. As a result, when you or your clients sign in or make a change to the account information, you or your clients may be required to enter a one-time confirmation code to complete the sign-in or change process.
What is Risk‑Based Two Factor Authentication? - It is a two step verification process to ensure secure access to your account. During login, you or your clients will be prompted to confirm the account information by entering a code that is delivered by Intuit via email. Once the code is entered and validated, you will be authenticated into the system for that device.
What You Need to Do! - QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Online Accountant customers need to double-check that the email address on file within the account(s) is up-to-date. You can manage your Settings by logging in to your QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Online Accountant account. Since Intuit will be sending a code via email, it is important that this information is up-to-date. If available, Intuit will guide you or your client through a series of more detailed questions to verify the identity, which may include sending in a photo of your driver’s license.
