We wanted to give you some 'breaking news' about several product announcements that were made during the opening sessions of QuickBooks Connect. Ariege Misherghi, the Accountant Leader for Intuit QuickBooks, thrilled those in attendance with several new, or expanded features for QuickBooks Online. Please note the graphics depicted herein are from 'live capture,' taken from curved screens, so quality is somewhat diminished, but they are at present the best available to us for publication.
Project Profitability
QuickBooks introduced 'projects' last year; in fact, Insightful Accountant was the very first to write about the new feature and how the expanded outlook for this feature would look upon full development.

This new 'profitability' capability is designed to give you a look at all your revenues, costs and expenses on a project-by-project basis. Similar to what we always called 'job costing' in QuickBooks Desktop.) You can get a depiction of your various projects, as shown below...

or you can get details on a project basis.

Statement Auto-import
This feature is designed to expand QuickBooks capabilities to bring in information from statement sources. The feature makes use of the 'staged API' first revealed last year at QuickBooks Connect to the Developer audience, and then implemented with one or two specific Apps during the Spring of 2018.

Client Overview
This provides a summary of not only a client's financial information, but their overall status within QuickBooks Online Accountant. It's an easy way to garner as much information in a simplistic fashion from a single snapshot. It contains information regarding the company, their configuration within QuickBooks, their set-up within QuickBooks Online Accountant, and their financials.

Insightful Accountant will be giving you more details about each of these features, and more, just as soon as it becomes available.
