Do you sometimes want more screen landscape while using QuickBooks Online? "I do."
There must have been enough of you thinking the same thing, because now you can collapse the Navigation Bar allowing more usable working screen space while in QBO.
Whether you call it the hamburger, stack of paper or collapsible icon, what this feature allows you to do is hide the entire navigation bar providing more landscape.

And, of course, the benefit of having more landscape is being able to see and use more of the QBO company details.
Real world application – This week, I was away from my office computer and using a laptop. Because the screen format was different from my office computer, the screen simply wasn’t wide enough for me to see all my bank feeds. Remembering the hamburger, I clicked it, and “boom,” up popped my missing bank feed details. All my problems were solved.
Let's look at how the screen appeared before I clicked the hamburger to collapse the Navigation Bar:
QBO before collapsed nav bar
This company actually has three bank accounts, but because of the limited landscape, one of the three accounts didn't fit within the screen space.
But now, if I click the little 'hamburger' icon, my entire QBO landscape changes:

As you can see (above), all three of my bank accounts are showing up. This is one handy, practical and easy-to-use feature.
And when it comes time to restore your Navigation Bar, simply click the "hamburger" icon again, and the Navigation Bar re-assumes it's rightful place within the QBO landscape.
There recently was a fun chat about this very thing on the QBO Show. They discussed whether or not it should be called the "hamburger," or the "collapse icon" (how boring does that sound). Of course, I'm partial to the "hamburger," as you can tell.
No matter what you decide to call this icon, the consensus is that you will like being able to have more screen landscape to expand your visibility when you want it.
