Apparently one of the latest Microsoft updates is causing errors when attempting to Open QuickBooks, or maybe causing QuickBooks to crash repeatedly.
Intuit has identified a recent Microsoft patch preventing QuickBooks Desktop products from Opening on computers using either Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Server 2008 R2 operating systems.
Supposedly Microsoft has withdrawn the patch, but it is still impacting those users who had already installed it on their computers.
Intuit believes that Microsoft's release of KB4074805 for .NET Framework appears to have caused this issue. As a result, QuickBooks Desktop products may not function properly while these updates are installed.
If you are experiencing this problem it will be necessary to remove patch KB4074805. If you are still experiencing the issue, you may have to uninstall patch KB4073701 as well. If you are not comfortable performing operating system roll-backs, then contact a qualified Microsoft IT professional to assist you.
