Here's some great news from the QBO/QBOA team – Intuit developers listened when we said we wanted to be able to see and edit apps on behalf of our clients. As ProAdvisors, we most often are the ones who recommend apps to our clients, so, of course, we need easy access to them.
And we soon will have that access.
Since this is Breaking News, which was released at "Scaling New Heights," the following images are from the Intuit feature briefing. I wish they the graphics were high-res, but you'll just have to live these on-the-scene snapshots.
Here is how the new feature will work:
- From our QBOA Navigation Bar, choose apps
- Once the Apps Dashboard is open, select “Your Client’s Apps,” “Your Firm’s Apps” or “All Apps”
Apps Tab 01
- The “Your Client’s Apps” selection allows you to view a client
- If there are apps attached, a list will generate
- Each app on the list has an action for you to choose edit or disconnect
- From this same “Your Client’s Apps” dashboard, you can add apps for your client
Apps Tab 02
Before adding an app, you can search all apps by name or type to find the best match; the search results also will display top rated apps with a trophy icon:
Apps Tab 03
Once an app is chosen, authorize the app connection to QBO client. At this time, you also can edit the app if there are usage options:
Apps Tab 04
Similar options are available for “Your Firm’s Apps.” You can view, add, edit or disconnect an app from the Apps dashboard.
Apps Tab 05
Most of our clients don’t want to learn how to connect an app, they just want to be able to use the added features the app offers, such as payroll, field services, receipt management.
In some cases, the client is not even the user of the app at all. We're using the app on behalf of our client, such as in the case of Hubdoc or some reporting tools.
In cases where the client won't be using the app, but it's still acquired on their behalf, it makes perfect since for us, as their ProAdvisor, to add and control these apps. With this new Apps tab in QBOA, we can do so with easy access to every app in the app arsenal.
Now, we can get down to "Happy APPing."
