Last week, I noticed a new message directing me to sign out of QuickBooks Online via a new icon next to the QBO Company Gear. The new icon displays your first initial and is the new location to sign out of QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Online Accountant (QBOA).
Previously, the QBOA Gear Icon is how users signed out.

By clicking on the new icon, users are given a few action choices.
(1) Sign Out – this option signs you out of QBOA
(2) Manage your Intuit Account – User ID, password, personal info, and preferences can be edited
If the user is an accountant user with a ProAdvisor account, they also have an additional choice.
(3) Go to ProAdvisor profile – here you can update your accountant find a ProAdvisor profile
Moving the Sign Out option means more users will be aware of how to access their other account details. Many users who needed to make account changes struggled with how to make edits.
The Manage your Intuit Account is a portal for editing sign in and security information such as email address, password, and two-step authorization. Within the portal, you can also make changes to billing and subscriptions.

With the new Icon not only can you sign out, but accountant users can also go to their ProAdvisor profile and make updates.

Editing your account should be comfortable, accessible, and this change will help users to have better access to account information when changes are necessary.
I have not tested the new Sign Out icon on any browser platform except for Chrome, so I am unaware of any differences that might exist in any other browser environments.
If you find differences due to differing browser environments like 'Explorer', 'Edge' or 'Firefox', please let us know by posting your comments to this article, we would love to hear what you think.
