The Business View in QuickBooks Online was created for business owners with more simplified, everyday terms that they might use. For example, Business View terminology is Get Paid and Pay Instead of Expense Center.
Often, business owners are confused with accounts receivable or account payable. By listing all money-in and money-out transactions in one location, the idea is to prevent backward incorrect transactions.
I see the need for education accountants can provide to small businesses to help them understand accounting terms and basic reporting comprehension. Some companies avoid asking questions to prevent sounding dumb. The business view is a bridge to owner comprehension and understanding.
As much as I love the Accountant view, there are advantages to the business view that will help your clients, including the Bookmarks feature.
Adding bookmarks allows you to create shortcuts to your most frequently used pages, such as your Chart of Accounts.
You can also reorder and remove your default menu to suit your needs by clicking the menu tab.
All in all, the Bookmarks feature in QuickBooks Online is a great way to keep track of your favorite reports so you can easily find them later. In addition, you can add, edit or delete bookmarks with just a few clicks as needed.
We wrote an article in August about the new Business View available in QuickBooks Online if you want to learn more.
