Tennis great Serena Williams has overcome insurmountable odds on the way to winning a staggering 23 career Grand Slams titles. She has been ranked No. 1 in world singles by the Women's Tennis Association for 319 weeks, including a joint-record 186 consecutive weeks, and finished as the year-end No. 1 five times.
In addition, she also won won 14 major women's doubles titles, all with her sister, Venus. The pair are unbeaten in Grand Slam doubles finals.
Her remarkable tennis achievements—combined with her off-court success in business, philanthropy and fashion—make her one of the most recognizable and powerful voices in the world.
Malcolm Gladwell is the author of seven New York Times bestsellers, including “The Tipping Point,” “Blink,” “Outliers,” “Talking to Strangers” and “The Bomber Mafia.”
Gladwell's writings often deal with the unexpected implications of research in the social sciences, like sociology and psychology, and make frequent and extended use of academic work.
He also is the host of a 10-part podcast, “Revisionist History,” and has been a staff writer for the New Yorker since 1996. Gladwell also has been named one of TIME magazine's 100 most influential people and one of Foreign Policy’s Top Global Thinkers.
