Intuit has issued Release 3 for the QuickBooks 2015 product line to resolve a few bugs that were not resolved prior to the original distribution of the product. There isn’t much in this release for everyday users other than one critical thing dealing with PrePrinted forms. These include in order of most importance (as far as I am concerned):
Fix for Printing of PrePrinted Forms - Fixing an issue that caused the footer fields (Subtotal, Sales Tax, Total, Payments/Credits and Balance Due) to not print when using the setting intended to print on Pre-printed forms (from Intuit) rather than blank paper. This error impacted several of my own clients who use the pre-printed forms rather than printing the form design.
File Upgrade Failure – R3 fixes an issue that caused the file upgrade to QuickBooks 2015 to fail if a user attempted to upgrade the file when logged-in as a non-admin user. I am not really certain why any non-admin user would even ‘attempt’ to upgrade the file from a prior version to the new version (so perhaps this really shouldn’t be considered a bug at all, but rather a safety precaution). But it was the source of a few‘calls for help’ to my office.
Network Issue Help not working – There was a problem encountered when clicking the ‘tell me more” button if users experienced H202, H303, or H505 errors. R3 will now take them to the appropriate Technical Support (KBA) article; If I had ‘my way’ it would take them to the find a ProAdvisor screen, so they didn’t mess things up further before they called for help.
Accountant Toolbox Errors – The new ‘accountant’s toolbox’ which can only be accessed in QuickBooks Pro and Premier by an External Accountant User who has a paid-up subscription for QuickBooks Accountant Version or a current ProAdvisor membership was displaying some “License Not Found” errors that precluded access, that problem along with access from all versions of QuickBooks 2015 (not including Enterprise 15) has been reportedly resolved under this new R3 release.
