This is a simple little enhancement for 2019, but one that has been needed to help QuickBooks users observe best practices related to Vendor Bills and Payment. Thanks Intuit, for following through on this long-standing product enhancement request.
Previous versions of QuickBooks would display the Open Bills Exist advisory message (like the one shown below) whenever you attempted to use the Write Check feature to pay a Vendor for whom a Vendor Bill already existed. Unfortunately, the highlighted option button within that message was the ‘Continue Writing Check’ prompt which resulted in many users continuing inappropriately.

QuickBooks 2019 helps to insure the proper workflow is followed by highlighting the ‘Go to Pay Bills’ option (blue button) in the new Check for Bills pop-up message.

But the messaging change isn't the only thing that is enhanced in this process. When you select the option of 'Go to Pay Bills,' QuickBooks not only takes you to the Pay Bills window, but also automatically filters the window for the specific Vendor you entered in the Write Check window making it easier than ever to follow the proper procedure.

While it may take some 'getting use to' on the part of users who in the past have followed the appropriate workflow by selecting the correct button anyway, which was previously the white button on the left and now it's the blue button on the right, this little change has the potential for producing a big impact in terms of proper accounting for those who failed to follow the proper workflow.
