The changes, improvements and fixes elaborated below were included in this release for QuickBooks Pro 2019, QuickBooks Premier 2019, QuickBooks Accountant 2019 and QuickBooks Enterprise v19.0. Be aware that each new update also includes all the changes from earlier updates. If you have automatic updates turned on, QuickBooks will download the updates for you and prompt you to install it. You can manually download the update from the Official Intuit QuickBooks Downloads and Updates Webpage (product/version specific).
Release 12 Update
The changes, improvements and fixes elaborated below were included in this release:
Intuit Account Login
- The Admin User is now required to log in to their Intuit Account when:
- Creating a 'New Company File'
- Opening an existing file as the Admin User
Note: Intuit has been building a closer relationship between desktop licensing and desktop files over the past couple of years (when a 'Sign-in' feature was first added to the 'My Company' window within each Company). This appears to be a continuation of those efforts to strengthen the licensing conformity and potentially add file protections.
Simplify Install
- Easier and more stable install experience
Federal W4 Changes
- Payroll reports and Export to .xml now include information contained on the new W-4
Scope Bug Fixes
- Fixed a bug that created when selecting an eCheck as the Customer Payment Method
Other Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue to show Company file names when QuickBooks is launched
- Fixed an issue that caused a "QuickBooks has stopped working" error when multiple versions of QuickBooks are launched on the same computer
Should You Update?
Well, this is always a question, if you have experienced any of these problems then you may want to go ahead and install this update; otherwise you may want to hold off a week or so to see if any adverse findings are reported. Remember if you are not interested in these updates then you need to make certain that 'Auto-updates' have been turned-off inside QuickBooks.
