For the 2nd Friday in a row, Intuit has issued a product release update just before the weekend, this time it involves the 2019 line-up of QuickBooks Desktop products. The following changes, improvements, and fixes were made to QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2019, QuickBooks Desktop Premier 2019 and QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise 19.0. Later releases (ones with higher numbers) include all changes in earlier releases.
QuickBooks File Manager Password Reset:
•License-based password reset replaces the challenge-based password reset process. Users must now use license information instead of challenge questions to reset file passwords.
Bug Fixes Including:
•Fixed an issue with credit cardholder name not appearing in an EMV transaction.
•Resolved issue where discrepancies were observed when accountant copied files were used for Pick, Pack, and Ship in the Advanced Inventory feature set of QuickBooks Enterprise.
Should you update?
The release is available for 'manual download' from the QuickBooks Downloads and Updates website. It will start being pushed out over the 'automatic updates' downloads shortly. If you don't want the update then you need to make certain you have 'turned-off' auto-updates, otherwise you are going to be looking at that message advising you an update is ready for installation every time you log-in.
For the most part, these are 'fixes' to problems that have been identified. If you have experienced any of these issues, you may wish to update to this newest release version. If you haven't experienced any of these issues, you may wish to hold-off to see if there are any issues that arise out of this maintenance update.
