Intuit has pushed out QuickBooks Desktop 2019 Release 4 just before the holidays. The following changes, improvements, and fixes were made to QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2019, QuickBooks Desktop Premier 2019 and QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise 19.0. Later releases (ones with higher numbers) include all changes in earlier releases. Product updates can be downloaded through the program or from this site.
- Accountant's Copy File Transfer - improvements to the Accountant’s Copy File Transfer experience for better collaboration with accountants.
- Bug Fixes – fixed an issue causing QuickBooks to crash while applying credits to Invoice; fixed and error experienced when closing QuickBooks Accountant files if the user has both 2019 and earlier QuickBooks versions on the same PC
- Fixed Asset Manager - update for calculations in order to support the Tax Cut and Jobs Act of 2017
- IIF - enhanced IIF import and fixes to common bugs and known issues: Accept decimal and standard time format in the Timer activity record; IIF import for employee names; IIF invoice to allow negative qty in the same invoice; Fixed the spelling to ENDTNS;
- Payroll Compliance - QBDT Payroll products are completely compliant with US tax laws giving you complete confidence that you are paying your employees right.
- Payroll reports - users can now generate "State Mandated Retirement" reports for states that require reporting of retirements deductions from each employee’s paycheck.
- Payroll On-boarding - the following issues are now fixed: incorporated a simpler and faster in-product Payroll purchase experience; after purchase, users can easily onboard to QuickBooks Desktop Payroll. With ‘Express Setup’ option, users can quickly add employees, set up their pay and benefits and run theirfirst payroll.
- Self Help - improved discovery of content and Intuit support channels in the help panel.
- TSheets – Integration: integrate your TSheets account directly from within QuickBooks with an updated integration method; set-up a TSheets account directly within QuickBooks before integrating.
Some features may not seem important unless you are already using those features, like TSheets for example, or payroll, or IIF. In those case you may wish to upgrade, in other cases you may want to wait to see if users experience issues with the update(s).
