The holiday is upon us and as they walk out the door Intuit has issued Release 12 (R12) for the QuickBooks 2017 Desktop product line. The following changes, improvements and fixes were included in this release for QuickBooks Pro 2017, QuickBooks Premier 2017, QuickBooks Accountant 2017 and QuickBooks Enterprise v17.0.
- Accountant's Copy File Transfer - Improvements to the Accountant’s Copy File Transfer process to provide a better experience for users when collaborating with their accountants.
- Easy Upgrade - Easy upgrade of QuickBooks Desktop software from the 2017 version to a newer version from within your existing QuickBooks. No additional downloads required.
- Payroll Compliance – QuickBooks Desktop Payroll products are now completely compliant with US tax laws giving you complete confidence that you are paying your employees correctly.
- Payroll On-boarding – incorporation of a simpler and faster in-product Payroll purchase experience.
- Payroll Set-up Wizard – Payroll users will more easily on-board employees, set up their pay and benefit items and run their first payroll using an ‘express set-up’ feature. We described this feature in greater detail in our article about release 9 for QuickBooks 2018 on November 25. (See Related Features at the end of this article.)
- Payroll Reports – Enhanced with new State Mandated Retirement reports for states that require reporting of retirements deductions from each employee’s paycheck.
- Self Help - Improved discovery of content and Intuit support channels in the help panel.
- TSheets - Integrate TSheets and QuickBooks like never before. Users can set-up their TSheets account directly within QuickBooks so that the two originate as one from the very start. We described this feature in greater detail in our article about release 9 for QuickBooks 2018 on November 25. (See Related Features at the end of this article.)
If you are needing any of these features then you may consider the update, if not, then you may cautiously await updating to see if there are any reported bugs prior to endulging especially since customer support is going to be limited over the next several days as they celebrate the holiday.
