As the need to be mobile in our business increases, so does the speed and ease at which we retrieve critical information. In recognition of the on the go user, Intuit updated the iPad/iPhone QuickBooks Online App in March. One of the most critical pieces of information a company can have is their bank balance. In order to have an accurate bank balance a client needs to be able to edit/add transactions easily. Although, I must disclose I am an android user and happy with the QBO Android App, this weekend I tried out the Apple App and decided I HAD to share how impressed I am by the feature update. The iPad/iPhone App is straightforward allowing the user to move easily from screen to screen, and with the recent update the App looks and feels like the full version of QBO with, of course, a few differences. Let me point out the new iPad/iPhone App features.
Highlighted Updated iPad/iPhone App Features:
iPhone App Points
From the Navigation menu select Banking
Step 1 - iPhone iPad Banking
In the Banking screen choose the Bank Account you wish to update by selecting the drop-down arrow. In this screen you can see the QBO app does not see the most recent transactions, but the new update to the QBO iPad/iPhone App allows you to refresh the bank feeds so they are current.
iPad Banking Step 2
Once the bank feeds have refreshed a new list of transaction are available to edit; the new feature also allows users to sort and edit multiple transactions at a time.
iPad Step 3
Once the group of transactions you wish to edit are selected, choose Modify and then you can edit the account or category.
iPad step 4
This improved functionality gives the App's user the ability to add/edit 'on the go', and in so doing have more control over the balance of their bank accounts. When our clients have more information they have more control over the workings of their business.
Because I am a big fan of being mobile, and “working” from any location (school parking lot while waiting on kids, in the waiting room of a client's office, at an athletic event for one of my kids, sitting in bed late at night, at the swimming pool over a summer weekend, or even on the beach front while attending Scaling New Heights, I will post another QBO Monday Minute very soon including "Invoicing and Expenses with attachments on the go" inside the available Apps. So stay tuned.
