While out on the Intuit Master Class Road Tour last week I heard that, "over the next few weeks, the QBO Quick Create (Plus Sign) will receive a new home and a new name!"
My first response was, "Why?"
But then I was told, the answer is... "user feedback." Many end users have responded by saying they like all their navigation tools on the left where they perform the rest of their daily tasks. By renaming the Quick Create to '+ New', it calls out to what the feature is designed to do, which is help create new transactions quickly.
Here’s a peek at the redesign with the QBO '+ New' button on the Left Navigation bar
By renaming the QBO Quick Create to + New, it calls out to what the feature is designed to do, which is help create new transactions quickly.
As with most QBO enhancements the feature will roll-out in phases, so don't expect for all your clients to receive it at the same time, nor can you necessarily expect to receive it at the same time as your clients.
I first learned about this little nugget of information during a live presentation in the Miami Intuit Master Class i was co-instructing with Carla Caldwell. She was reminding the group how important it is while performing a client implementation plan, to create expected timelines and to acknowledge that change is hard.
While we were with this amazing group of Miami accountants, we talked about some of the pros and cons of the Quick Create move and name alteration. There were several great points made, including one ProAdvisor's statement about moving the Quick Create away from the Gear Icon, which they felt should be used primarily by Accountant users.
It’s important to remember each time we train our clients we are asking them to trust us. In order to continually earn this trust, we should provide our clients with expected timelines so they too can anticipate the upcoming adjustments.
Even the move and rename of the QBO 'Quick Create' to the '+ New' will be an adjustment for some users.
