QuickBooks ProAdvisor Desktop Software Price Increase

Intuit notes that prices for the 'QuickBooks Accountant' version of their desktop software has not changed with the past four version (year) releases, despite the new features updated across their Pro, Premier, Enterprise (and Accountant) versions. Intuit has begun providing the 'advanced notices' to aid ProAdvisors in planning for the costs of their software during the remainder of 2019 since ProAdvisors with a current QuickBooks ProAdvisor desktop software subscription, will see these prices effective with their next renewal2 if such renewal is on or after September 3, 2019.

Details of the pricing change are reflected in the table below which has been adapted from the official Intuit notification.

The notification also reminds ProAdvisors that they may upgrade, manage or cancel their subscription at any time by visiting the Customer Account Management Portal accessed via their QBO-Accountant log-in.

1The new pricing will take effect on the next billing date on or after the effective date of the price change. If your renewal date is in July, you will renew at the current price in July 2019 and the new price in July 2020.

  2QuickBooks ProAdvisor software subscription charges are auto-recurring to customer's credit, debit, or EFT accounts annually at the then-current price of the subscription. Intuit will notify you by email thirty (30) days prior to the renewal date that you will be charged the then-current subscription fee to the payment information on file. If you are charged and you later elect not to renew your subscription, you may cancel your subscription and request a refund of the subscription fee by notifying Intuit no later than 60 days after the renewal date. Please note you can opt out of the subscription at any time by again calling (888) 250-7279. This alert is provided as a convenience for our customers and is not intended to supplement, modify or extend the Intuit software license agreement between Intuit and the customer for any Intuit product or service.

  3The QuickBooks ProAdvisor Deluxe software subscription includes a 1-user license of accountant version of QuickBooks Accountant. Must be an active and current QuickBooks ProAdvisor and can be downloaded once per year only. If you add or remove services, including Payments, your service fees will be adjusted accordingly.

  4The QuickBooks ProAdvisor Premium software subscription includes a 1-user license of each accountant version of QuickBooks Accountant, QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions, QuickBooks Point of Sale, and QuickBooks for Mac. Must be an active and current QuickBooks ProAdvisor and can be downloaded once per year only. Transactional and other fees apply for use of Payments software.

  5QuickBooks Desktop Accountant listed price is for 1-user; multiple-user license prices also subject to change. Terms, conditions, pricing, features, services and support options are subject to change without notice.

Subsequent to publication of our article on May 2 which as we specified in the 'Editor's Note' (below) was based exclusively upon the email sent to QuickBooks ProAdvisors, Intuit asked us to publish the following additional information in response to our article. Out of fairness to both you our readers, and Intuit, we are doing so.

"The footnote in our Community article is actually most current. Could we reference that language in the article, rather than the language in the email?

The QuickBooks ProAdvisor Premium software subscription includes a 1-user license of each accountant version of QuickBooks Accountant, QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions, QuickBooks Point of Sale, and QuickBooks for Mac. Must be an active and current QuickBooks ProAdvisor. License may be installed for access and use solely by one person on (1) a primary computer; and (2) one additional computer for use by that same specific person. If you add or remove services, your service fees will be adjusted accordingly.

Please reassure readers that they can download the software as many times as needed from CAMP and also from our download site, provided that the user is following the guidelines above. More details can be found here."
