QuickBooks Online Accountant users will ultimately be able to add QuickBooks Solopreneur clients and use that product’s features; however, Intuit reports that initially, at product launch, QBO Accountant users will not be able to add QuickBooks Solopreneur customers.
Yes, Intuit is adding another QuickBooks Online version specific to solopreneurs who need more than QuickBooks Self-Employed. Intuit defines Solopreneurs as one-person businesses, like sole proprietors or single-member LLCs (Schedule C tax filers), whose business is their primary source of income.
Even though many solopreneurs participating in the ‘Gig economy’ have been using QuickBooks Self-Employed, Intuit has recognized an opportunity to better serve the needs of many of these customers who wish to manage their day-to-day books. As a result, Intuit will soon begin offering QuickBooks Solopreneur.
New QuickBooks Solopreneur
QuickBooks Solopreneur includes improved features, new tools to help drive growth, a straightforward user interface, and more accessible connections to other QuickBooks services and tools.
QuickBooks Solopreneur will keep the user interface simple by maintaining single-entry bookkeeping on the front end but using double-entry bookkeeping in the background for easy reconciliation.
QuickBooks Solopreneur offers several key features experienced through the users’ mobile devices, including mileage tracking.
This means businesses using QuickBooks Solopreneur can add additional services* and ultimately experience a more seamless upgrade if and when they grow into another level of QuickBooks Online.
There is also a simplified setup of QuickBooks Solopreneur, along with added flexibility and productivity tools.
The redesigned transaction management tools in QuickBooks Solopreneur automatically separate business and personal transactions using predetermined categories for easy review; this helps maximize tax deductions.
QuickBooks Solopreneur users will soon be able to access QuickBooks Live Tax so that these Schedule C filers can prepare current tax year returns with unlimited expert help to get every credit they deserve. They can start tax return services for free and pay when they file*.
