AccountingCred
Insightful Accountant and Surgent have teamed up to power AccountingCred, an innovative online education platform delivering high-quality Continuing Professional Education (CPE) webinars to accounting, tax, and bookkeeping professionals, free of charge.
“Surgent and Insightful Accountant understand what accounting professionals are looking for when it comes to sponsored CPE. Instead of an infomercial, they want relevant, quality content that will help them professionally. The leadership and experience of both organizations fuels the AccountingCred difference.” – Evan Kramer, Surgent CEO
Surgent, which is a market leader in premium paid CPE through its SurgentCPE brand, conceived of AccountingCred after recognizing that there was an opportunity to improve the quality and educational content of sponsored CPE to further expand its reach and effectiveness. AccountingCred enables accounting and tax professionals to attend unlimited educational webinars—and earn up to five CPE credits each year—completely free of charge. With a mission to provide a meaningful educational experience for both CPAs and all other types of accounting, tax, and bookkeeping professionals, AccountingCred courses will cover topics that are timely, practical, and designed to deliver value—particularly regarding the wide-range of technologies and services available to enhance productivity, improve client services, and support small business success.
For 2018, the AccountingCred webinar schedule will include webinars on such critical topics as: accounting workflow improvement and management, best practices for leveraging QuickBooks and other popular technologies, cloud-based file sharing best practices, and identity theft prevention, to name a few. AccountingCred will have a full 60 day rolling calendar starting in May with hundreds of events to be added over course of the year. Offered May through December 2018, the curriculum will adhere to NASBA guidelines and feature high-quality, informative online courses, sponsored by a select group of highly-respected organizations.
New this year for AccountingCred is TaxCred, designed specifically to keep all types of tax professionals fully informed on the latest in tax law, industry trends, and other changes. Courses cover timely, relevant topics that include: tax reform and what the recent rule changes mean, tax minimization strategies to remove audit exposure and maintain compliance, and ways to leverage Six Sigma improve tax processes and workflows.
Though a number of free CPE options already exist in this space, AccountingCred seeks to correct the negative feedback that often accompanies these offerings.
“We hear time and time again that the content is poor quality, irrelevant, or simply a poorly-disguised sales pitch. We want our attendees to leave feeling energized and informed and come back to us to receive the information they need to stay current on the latest news and offerings in the accounting, tax, and bookkeeping industries,” said Bob Allard, VP of Sales and Business Development at Insightful Accountant.
