In what could be the Uber or Airbnb of the tax filing world, Taxfyle, an on-demand tax and accounting marketplace that connects consumers and small businesses with CPAs and enrolled agents, has received $2 million from new investors.
The new investors include Jonas Tempel, founding partner of music streaming an purchasing site Beatport, and angel investor Jeff Ransdell. There was additional support from existing investors.
The latest round of financing will be used to scale services in the way that Taxfyle has been doing since its founding in August 2015.
Since then, the company has partnered with tax prep software provider TaxAct in order to accommodate more complex filers; integrated with Apple Pay, Touch ID, and several major American financial institutions including Bank of America and American Express; launched a mobile app; and on-boarded more than 700 tax professionals.
