We told you in February that Intuit was giving Estimates and Invoices a makeover. Back then, while some of the new features still were being built out, users were allowed to try out some of the features.
Now, features like Subtotals, Multi-currency, and Signatures on mobile invoices, and several others still are in progress.
We also told you QuickBooks was planning on phasing in the new experience during the fall 2023, anticipating it would be completed by year’s end. Things are advancing, but the timeline for full implementation is a little behind.
For example, things like sales tax support, shipping fields, permitting duplicate transaction numbers and invoice line item copy still are in the works, along with others.
But, according to the latest news, Invoice changes will be made for all QuickBooks Simple Start customers in the US beginning Oct. 16, 2023. Those users will not have the option to switch back from the new to the old experience once transitioned.
Following the October (2023) transition for QBO Simple Start, the update of Invoices will be rolled out to other QBO SKUs over the next several months, with the new target date for completion of this project being May 2024 for the US. Other geographical versions of QBO may not make the transition until after the May date.
The new Invoice forms allow users to adjust Invoice forms right on the form. There is no need to manage templates; all the options are on the form. QuickBooks will remember your choices and automatically apply them to the next Invoice form.

You will have new options to help you get paid faster when using QuickBooks Payments. You can add payment options like PayPal, Venmo, credit card and ACH bank transfer. Customers can pay your Invoice right from the Invoice you send them.
QBO Advanced users will be able to automate tasks like sending Invoices or payment reminders right from the form itself.

So, the enhancements are on the way; they simply are taking a little more time than expected. We wanted you to know about the rollout date changes.
