The QuickBooks Workforce can help employees track their work hours, duty schedules, and paid time off between paydays and their paycheck finances on payday.
QuickBooks Workforce helps automate and consolidate all work-related tasks in one place so employees can confidently focus on their work. When payday arrives, employees can easily see their work time turned into wages, all in one centralized employee hub.
Now, QuickBooks Workforce allows QuickBooks Premium and Elite Payroll customers to automate the I-9 compliance process so that employees can complete the I-9 Form and provide employment eligibility verification during onboarding.
Rather than rely on hard copies of this mandated form, employers can simplify and digitize the I-9 process in a few steps:
- A new employee will confirm their identity and eligibility for U.S. employment as part of their self-setup in the web portal,
- The new employee must bring their ID-confirming documents to their new employer on their start date.
- Employers will initiate the payroll process in QuickBooks, set up the employee, and invite the employee to QuickBooks Workforce so that they can complete the self-setup portions of payroll and their portion (Step 1) of the I-9 form via the web portal.
- Employers must complete their part (Step 2) of the I-9 form process in QuickBooks within three days of the employee's start date.
- Afterward, the employee's I-9 is stored within the 'Documents tab' of the employee profile.
The ability to upload, store, and share I-9 documentation through QuickBooks Payroll via QuickBooks Workforce eliminates the need to keep and track the whereabouts of paper I-9 forms and related documentation.
