Things are changing for small businesses today. Many employees want the freedom to get paid when they want to be paid, not necessarily when their employer schedules payroll. With the difficulty of finding and retaining high-quality employees, businesses are using this type of payroll freedom as one benefit they offer their personnel.
With Gusto as your payroll provider, offering employees payroll payday freedom is just part of the convenience of running payroll with Gusto. Gusto enables you to run payroll as often as you need each month at no extra charge.
One member, just a few or all of your team can get paid in just a few clicks. And for some employers, the convenience of Gusto’s Payroll AutoPilot is why they choose Gusto, even when they use QuickBooks for their accounting.
The reality is that most Gusto customers say it is easier and less time-consuming than other payroll solutions.

Gusto doesn’t just calculate your taxes; it files them with the correct governmental agencies (federal, state and local) every time you run payroll. It is part of the included services Gusto provides, not extra.
And Gusto stores all employee I-9s and W-2s online, and handles the registration process in all states where employees live or work.
Many businesses are turning to Gusto for their QuickBooks integrated payroll, whether they use online or desktop. The same can be said for companies using Xero for their accounting.
In fact, Gusto has a growing number of integrations with third-party software solutions of all types (accounting, analytics, collaboration, financial, hiring, legal, performance, provisioning, tax and time-tracking).
Gusto’s two-way integration with QuickBooks Online builds and syncs a detailed journal entry into your QuickBooks Online.

When setting-up Gusto to work with QuickBooks, you add mappings for your bank accounts, earnings types, employer taxes, reimbursements, benefit expenses, benefit liabilities, deductions/garnishments, and more.
You also can map Gusto Departments or QuickBooks Classes (for Desktop) or QuickBooks Departments (for Online). Additional mappings are available for each QuickBooks product.

While integration with QBO occurs via the typical OAuth online integration methodology, integration with QuickBooks Desktop is via iiF file import.
Xero integration with Gusto occurs via a deep integration Xero developed for the app. When connected, your Gusto and Xero accounts sync the details to your accounting each time you run payroll.
Granularity for each entry can be based on earnings types, Gusto departments and Xero Tracking Categories. As such, users can map various accounting-related settings related to their chart of accounts and other payroll specific information for both on and off-cycle payrolls.

And Gusto makes it easy to stay compliant, meet state law requirements and protect your workers with Workers’ compensation coverages. According to the National Safety Council, a worker is injured on the job every 7 seconds.
Workers’ compensation includes medical expenses and wage replacement when a team member is injured at work while protecting your business from legal liability.
Gusto’s partner NEXT Insurance makes workers’ compensation coverage easy since a portion of the yearly premium is deducted with every payroll based on actual employee costs. As a result, you will not experience up-front premium expenses or year-end premium adjustments.
And HR support is included in all Premium Payroll plans or an add-on service with any Plus plan. With this coverage, you can get quick answers and resources from a dedicated Gusto team that knows you and your business.
In addition, you will get alerts and guides to help you stay compliant with HR law and avoid fines. And you can get formal advice from certified HR professionals via phone or email when needed.
