The flavors of Intuit Payroll are as various as the 52 menu items at a Baskin Robin’s ice cream shop. I thought I had tried them all, but recently I had my first QBO Full Service Payroll experience.
And was I wow’d by this most desirable experience.
I felt as if I had gone on a date where Prince Charming showed up in a limo to whisk me away. By the end of the date I was saying, "I do, I do."
I loved it; I truly loved it.
Why QBO Full Service Payroll is So Exciting
First off, it’s inside of QBO, so it’s convenient. Also, QBO Full Service Payroll takes us to the place we are all working toward, which is automating as much as possible. That allows us to focus our efforts where they are most valuable – as Trusted Advisors.
If we look at payroll setup, we'll see that it has four main components:
- Company information
- Bank information
- Employee information
- Tax and forms history
We can start to see where the time adds up with these four steps and why it’s so hard to price a payroll conversation without the client’s jaw hitting the floor. Innocently, our clients do not understand how many hours go into payroll conversions and setups, so these services are often undervalued.
For me, this is where I was wooed by QBO Full Service Payroll. Simply put, it frees up my time for more valuable work and it takes the liability off my shoulders.
What's the Same and What's Different?
As far as the same is concerned, all the standard Intuit Payroll features we're accustomed to are built into the product, including:
- User control of entering employee hours and pay schedule
- Choice of paycheck or direct deposit, at no additional charge
- Intuit calculated taxes
Now let’s marvel at the impressive QBO Full Service Payroll feature set:
- Tax payments processed automatically – based on company tax schedule
- Monthly, Quarterly and Annual forms filed automatically – so you’re never late
- Email reminders of payment draft dates
- Payroll expert for questions (this is handy if your client wants to handle questions on their own)
- Accurate and on time – guarantee
- IRS representation, if there is ever an issue
Entering the employee historical paychecks, tax payments and forms is typically where my eyes cross and I start to wonder, “Are we there yet”?
But not anymore – QBO Full Service payroll will handle these setup steps for you. They literally ask to take over. I called and tested it, so I'm living proof they do it. The turnaround time is about 10 days. Your Prince Charming (payroll account coordinator) may not be John Brakey, who was mine, but I have been reassured there is someone waiting to help everyone.
During my new client on-boarding, I called and emailed several times with John. He was always so happy and kind. Honestly, his enthusiasm and knowledge is a big part of why I'm sharing my experience.
Want to Know What Else You Win Besides Time? (Think Money)
There are big discounts and/or referral fees for QBO Full Service Payroll, which makes it more tangible to the majority of our users.
At present, if you choose the wholesale billing option, you'll receive 50 percent off the subscription for life. That's right, I said, "For life." If your client pays their monthly subscription, he is eligible for a 50 percent one year discount.
Either way, that's a huge savings to your client.
As an added bonus, if your client pays his subscription directly, you can opt into the referral program and receive $300.
Say it with me, "That's a win, win, win."
