Cloud Apps First Look: ReportAmigo

ReportAmigo is a cloud application that automates financial reporting while fostering transparency and interaction via automated and interactive reports distributed over email and SMS (text messaging). 

Today, thanks to bank feeds, artificial intelligence, and automation, company books are updated frequently and getting closer to the “real-time” accounting paradigm. This creates an incredible opportunity to leverage this data to provide teams with the right insights and information, when they need it, wherever they are.

ReportAmigo makes this possible by automatically distributing insightful reports to everyone that needs them, when they need them, wherever they are, while making it easier for teams to communicate around reports.

When the reports are transmitted from ReportAmigo you will receive either an email like this one (below) or a text message.

In either case they contain a link that you simply click on to be taken directly to the report(s) available for viewing.

And in case your interested, as most 'accounting types' are, ReportAmigo supports both cash-basis and accrual-basis reporting regardless of the data source.

Review & Annotate Workflow - ReportAmigo provides an optional workflow that enables accountants, bookkeepers, trusted advisors and others to review and annotate standard reports before they get sent to the recipients list. As the designated 'reviewer' you will receive an email like the one below.

Then with one click of the link I was take directly to the report I was designated to review and annotate. With one click more I saved my annotations, and sent the report to the list of recipients.

Of course these reports can include things like an Income Statement and Balance Sheet depiction.

As well as more traditional data reports in whatever level of detail or summary you prefer as with the General Ledger depiction shown below.

ReportAmigo is easy to use and only takes a few minutes to connect with one or more QuickBooks Online companies or Xero organizations (the number of companies or organizations you connect to is dependent upon the Plan you subscribe to). For QuickBooks users you can access this App from the Intuit App Center ReportAmigo page. (Note: I connected to my QBMurph file in less than 1 minute.) Xero users will find this App at the Xero App Marketplace Reports and Reporting page. (I didn't test it with Xero, but I suspect it works just as well as it did for me with QBO.)

You can then configure, schedule and automate daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports using their scheduling feature (shown below). Simply select the 'what', 'who', and 'when' and ReportAmigo will then run and send the specific reports to your designated contacts on the scheduled of your choice.
