From time to time Insightful Accountant likes to simply take one feature and bring you up to date on several of our favorite features.
There's a New Time Off Tool in TSheets by QuickBooks
If you use TSheets and you want your employees to submit time off requests for approval there is a newly designed feature just for you.
The newly designed feature allows for submission of time off requests and the approval of those requests, but the degree of sophistication of this process, and the options available is the 'TSheets by QuickBooks' difference we have come to expect from this Number One timekeeping App.
Of course you have the ability to restrict time-off entries to only your managers and administrators, "but where is the fun in that?" Now you might want to let everyone on your team to submit their own time off and simply "walk out the door at will for 2 weeks" but I ask you, would that be a very good idea, probably not... still the same there is an option that let's everyone schedule their own leave without requiring any approvals.
But you probably are looking for a couple of the other time-off/approval options that this new design has available. For example, you may want all workers to submit time off requests that are immediately sent to their managers or administrators to then approve or deny those requests. And you may even expect your managers to submit time off for approval by their administrators.
As I said, it's likely that most businesses using TSheets by QuickBooks will be looking for at least one of these last 2 options when they configure this new functionality. Because of that there are not only new entry methods for Administrators and Managers to enter leave requests, but team members can enter their time off requests directly from their TSheets App.

June is seeing New Updates to BigTime Software
Big things are happening at BigTime especially in terms of improving the user experience.
(1) Now, in addition to attaching PDFs, BigTime supports attaching JPG, GIF, BMP, and PNG files. No more need to convert or check file formats; simply attach and send.
(2) Previously the BigTime dashboard allowed you to view time entries by week, month, quarter, or year, but now you have the option to display all time at once; to view or edit instead of having to view as a report via different date ranges.
(3) Copy or more tasks to multiple projects all at once, saving you lots of time and preventing repetitive data entry.
