When the aroma of charcoal and food on the grill comes drifting over my fence, I always try to peek over to see what's for supper. That said, you might just be happy with what the folks at TSheets have cooked up.
I can hardly get one set of new features learned (and taught to my clients) before TSheets rolls out its next set. Makes me think there must not be much to do in Idaho (their home state), especially over the winter, except work. Anyway, here are a few of its latest hits.
Add or Invite Multiple Employees Faster Than Ever
Have you got several new employees to add to your TSheets account? Now you can not only add them all at the same time, but you have a choice of two different ways to add them.
TSheets Add Multiple Employees
You can either upload users in bulk via a CSV file or invite multiple employees at once using the employee invitation pop-out window (shown above). Slick as a whistle, all your new "peeps" are TSheeted and ready to go.You can find out more about this feature here.
Advanced Tracking is new name for ‘Custom Fields’
What’s in a name? You know the saying, "A rose by any other name would smell as sweet…(1)” That TSheets has changed the name of custom fields to Advanced Tracking doesn’t change the fact that this still is a great way to track all kinds of extra information, including mileage or equipment use.
TSheets Advanced Tracking
Not only have the folks at TSheets renamed custom fields, but they have made it possible under this feature to easily archive (and even un-archive) your custom fields as needed. And that's without having to ask Customer Support to do it for you. You can learn more about this sweet rose here.
Looking for an Alternative to Time Clocks, but not ready for mobile time-keeping?
TSheets Kiosk is a simple, cost-effective alternative to a traditional time punch clock. It allows your employees to clock in at a central location using an easy to remember, four-digit PIN.
Best of all, Kiosk works on any computer or tablet with an internet connection – no expensive, bulky hardware to purchase.
Employees soon will be able to submit time through kiosk too. If you’re interested in being among the first to try submitting time through TSheets Kiosk, simply sign up for more information and be notified when you can start testing this new feature.
Changes to Timesheet Notes
TSheets has made a couple of changes to Timesheet Notes. First, timesheet notes now can be required so that you never miss out on important details about jobs or tasks. TSheets administrators now can require employees to add notes to their time cards before clocking out. Imagine the kinds of information you can get, work progress or customer updates or even billing clarifications.
The second change to Timesheet Notes comes in the ability to add or edit notes. Users told TSheets they needed the ability for employees to enter or edit notes on past time sheets, but that they didn’t want to alter employee permissions to give them administrative permissions.
Because it listens to its customers, TSheets is in the process of finalizing the ability to edit past time sheet notes from the mobile app. Look for it soon.
How Do You like your Time?
We all have our preferences. Some people like their steak well done, while others prefer it rare. The same can be said of time when it comes to time sheets. Now you can choose how you want to see time displayed in TSheets Manual Time Cards.
You make the choice – if you want time to show up in decimal or hour:minute (hh:mm) format.
But that’s not all. It’s now easier than ever to manually enter hours in Manage Timesheets. When creating a new time sheet you can choose between:
1.) Entering the total hours (duration of work), as shown in the example below, or
TSheets Duration Option
2.) Enter the clock in and clock out time (shown below):
TSheets clock-in clock-out option
Personally, I like my time keeping lean and mean – just the way TSheets does it. As far as my steak, well, you'll just have to take a guess at that.
This article hasn't even given you a taste of all TSheets has to offer. It's more like just the aroma from your next door neighbor's grill. But you're all invited to the feast that is the next TSheets "What's New" free webinar.
You can join by registering here. You can bet it'll be yummy.
