Typically when I write an ‘App Aware’ feature I am telling you about a new App appearing in the Intuit QuickBooks App Center (IQBAC), but this is a bit of a different story, because the App we are featuring in today’s ‘App Aware’ isn’t listed in the IQBAC yet, even though it integrates with QuickBooks Online. I’m talking about Little Green Light, an App for Non-profits designed to provide flexible cloud-based donor management with powerful features but at an affordable price. Now, Insightful Accountant never discusses prices, but I can say that their monthly (and annual rates, which offer a 10% savings over the monthly rates) seem very appropriate for the level of data they are allowing their users to capture.

You will capture all of your donor information in Little Green Light and manage your donor and organization campaigns in cloud-base software designed for non-profits, and as of Mid-March (2019), Little Green Light now integrates with QuickBooks Online. Our good friend (here at Insightful Accountant) Gregg Bossen, CPA1 helped the people at Little Green Light make sure that the integration worked the way it needed to so that non-profits were properly recording their finances appropriately in QBO. As we understand it, Little Green Light is presently in the process of undergoing the Intuit reviews to become listed IQBAC. As such, we would hope to see them listed soon.
With regards to the specifics of integration, Little Green Light's (We'll shorten it to 'LGL') integration with QuickBooks Online (QBO) is designed to help you create sales receipts in QBO without needing to re-enter any data. You can set default mappings to populate the Product/Service and Class fields in your QuickBooks accounts, and match or create QuickBooks Customers based on your LGL constituents. The synchronization is a two-way process that pulls back the deposit information for each transaction, once you’ve connected it to a deposit in your QuickBooks account. The process looks something like this:

App Aware is a 'short-n-sweet' (or perhaps 'not so sweet') feature intended to give you a snap-shot about a new or up-n-coming App which Insightful Accountant and/or the Author has become aware of, and which you may not yet be aware of. Our intent is to make you aware of the App, to give you some particulars, and to give you some links where you can find out more information.
App Aware is NOT intended to provide the depth of information of either a 'First Look' or 'Product Review' feature otherwise prepared for publication by Insightful Accountant. These features do not constitute endorsements, nor do they constitute paid advertising, nor are they in any way associated with paid advertising otherwise appearing on our website.
