Editor's Note: February's editorial focus is on Time-tracking. Here, Murph takes a look at another time-tracking app. All told, he will be unveiling up to 60 articles for products that work with QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop.
Clockwise can provide the time clock services you need to keep your operation running smoothly. It can help you monitor when employees clock in and when they sign out, so scheduling surprises are kept to a minimum. It offers integration with QuickBooks Desktop.
Clockwise offers secure, flexible, compliant timekeeping with easy to use timesheets. Employees have the option to access their individual timesheets through any internet-connected computer using their username and a browser.
All timesheets have a non-editable audit trail, which timestamps every transaction by username or device ID and IP address.
Clockwise offers wall-mounted time clocks that integrate with its software and populate the timesheets in real-time. These time clocks can be configured with barcode, magnetic strip, proximity or biometric features, as well as PIN entry for employee identification. And Clockwise offers a Web Clock feature that can turn any PC with a browser into a time clock.
In addition, Clockwise offers mobile employee timekeeping using both iOS and Android apps. These apps feature easy time-punch, geo-tagging for punch location tracking, employee editing of timesheet entries, and the ability of users to check leave balances, view schedules, request leave time and submit their timesheets.
Clockwise administrators can create almost limitless combinations of time charging codes to accommodate the work of any type of employee and their work categories, tasks and projects. The app also provides role-based access for all users so that each user can have the access they need to do their jobs but no more. It also can be configured to meet DCAA-compliant timesheet approval and correction requirements.
Clockwise provides the ability to schedule employees by shifts, and schedules can be copied from one employee to the next, or one period to the next. Schedules can be made to account for approved PTO. Holidays can also be pre-populated on employee timesheets.
The app also can track vacation, sick, family, PTO or other user-defined leave. Leave requests can be submitted by employees automatically generating a notification to their supervisor and configured into the schedule upon approval.
Clockwise offers an SDK import of time data into QuickBooks Desktop, after the initial set-up, hours are imported into each Employee’s Weekly Timesheet.
For general information about the integration, see the Clockwise landing page in the QuickBooks Desktop App Store. For more specific details, check out the Clockwise QuickBooks Import Tool Guide.
