The QuickBooks Connect conference hosted developers from all over North America hoping to win the 2014 QuickBooks Connect Hackathon, an opportunity for developers to build a web application that works with QuickBooks Online. At the conclusion of the competition involving hundreds of developers, Ben Zittlau of Edmonton-based software company Jobber, was awarded one of the three $15,000 awards from among $100,000 in cash prizes.
Zittlau was able to create SafetyNet by Jobber, an easy to use web based app that integrates with QuickBooks Online, providing business owners and accountants with a secure backup and allow them to restore functionality in cases where data becomes corrupt. SafetyNet by Jobber meets an important need expressed by many QuickBooks Online users – the lack of a backup system for financial data. Now users can make the switch from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online without the fear of losing important data.
I for one will be interested in seeing this new App on-line and available for testing so that I can potentially recommend it to some of my QBO Clients.
Contratulations to Ben Zittlau and the team from Jobber.
