Editor's Note: February's editorial focus is on Time-tracking. Here, Murph takes a look at another time-tracking app. All told, he will be unveiling up to 60 articles for products that work with QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop.
Deputy allows you to keep track of employee time and attendance with one simple app. Your employees can clock in and out of work via Deputy to create an accurate digital timesheet. And, with Deputy, you can ensure that all your employees' time will be correct because the GPS location feature keeps track of where everyone is working.
Deputy’s scheduling software can schedule everything from work-shifts to meal and rest breaks. It also can calculate employee wages, including overtime, for each shift according to local laws and employment contracts.
Managers can easily view who's on shift, who's running late and who's on break. They can also reduce their work substantially by approving timesheets individually or in bulk as best fits their requirements. And it’s simple to export time from Deputy to QuickBooks.
Features include:
- Attendance tracking
- Employee scheduling, including auto-scheduling
- Leave and availability, including leave management
- Shift replacements and swapping
- Premium pay requirements
- Overtime management
- Fair work-week compliance
- Tasking
- Performance management
- Communications
- Health and safety
- Reporting
- Payroll integrations
- And more
Once you have connected Deputy with QuickBooks Online, you can export your time data to QBO. However, you will go through a series of steps to map data between the two applications prior to your first synchronization of time data.
Once those fields are mapped to each other, your timesheet data will transfer seamlessly between Deputy and QBO for purposes of payroll and time billing. You will find Deputy listed in the QBO app center here.
In addition, you can find a wealth of information about Deputy’s features and capabilities on its website.
