Intuit recently announced a couple of fixes made to the ratings and reviews feature of the Find-a-ProAdvisor online directory profiles. We hear a lot about fixes to the ProAdvisor site, so I set out to check out these fixes using my own profile. What I found didn't exactly meet my expectations or the 'fixes' described in Intuit's announcement.
Be sure to read my Editor's Notes and Comments below regarding subsequent updates to this article.

Write Review Fixed
.
Intuit's announcement indicated that, "Some small business owners were unable to write reviews for their QuickBooks ProAdvisor, due to issues with the "Write Review" button. This issue has now been resolved." (Intuit's example in the announcement is shown below)
Is it fixed - NOT ! (at least concerning my own Profile)
.
When I called up my own profile from the Find-a-ProAdvisor link from QuickBooks 2015, I got a screen that looked like this:
Even after waiting 3 minutes, the spinning wheel never quit spinning. I attempted to click on the Write a Review button and absolutely nothing happened, the spinning wheel just kept spinning. At least as far as my own profile is concerned from the Find-a-ProAdvisor website, the 'Write Review' feature is still NOT working.
By the way, do you notice that there are no 'rating stars' under my picture? This made me wonder if something had turned off the 'review' feature option in my profile, so I went and logged into the ProAdvisor Member Website and checked my profile, more about that in just a minute.
Editor's Update: I received a call from Jyothi Trishuleshwar, with ProAdvisor Product Management, on Friday (5/29) who informed me that I should clear my browser cache and cookies to see if that fixed the issues with the reviews functionality in my profile. It was a few hours before I was able to get that accomplished, but sure enough, it worked. Both my reviews and the Write Review button were active when I went out and checked my profile on the Find-a-ProAdvisor website." You can see in my revised headline illustration that my ratings look normal now and the Write Review button doesn't just spin-n-spin.
I know that a lot of you wrote in to say that you were not having the problems I had, that the site revisions were working with you, on the other hand several others indicated they were having issues as well. I would suggest that you 'clear your internet cache and cookies' to see if you resolve your viewing issues for the profile on the on-line directory.
I think Jyothi Trishuleshwar, was going to respond with comments to several of the specific issues you, our readers posted, and I will be publishing those. But let me say a special THANKS to the ProAdvisor team (espeically, Jyothi Trishuleshwar) first for reading Intuitive Accountant, taking our concerns to heart, and reaching out to tell us (and you our readers) how to potentially resolve problems related to this newest update to the ProAdvisor Website.
Review Count on 'Search Results' and Profile Pages
.
Intuit's announcement also specified, "For some ProAdvisors, the number of reviews shown on the Find-a-ProAdvisor search results page did not match the review count on their profile page. This issue has now been resolved. Reminder: the count is updated within 72 hours for any newly submitted or deleted reviews." (Intuit's example in the announcement is shown below)
Is it fixed - NOT ! (at least concerning my own Profile)
.
My own profile from the Find-a-ProAdvisor webiste clearly showed otherwise (see my profile above). So when I checked my profile from the ProAdvisor Member website, it shows that the ratings feature was active, and in the preview of the profile from the Member site, the ratings showed up,
but when I went back to the Find-a-ProAdvisor website, the rankings were NOT displayed.
Editor's Note: This functionality was fixed as well after I cleared my cache/cookies in my preferred browser.
By the way I tried my tests in two different browsers, from two different computers, just to see if that was the problem.
My (initial) conclusion is that either these announced 'fixes' are being implemented like many prior changes on a piecemeal basis (rather than all at once) and not all ProAdvisor Profiles have been repaired, or Intuit has not yet implemented the fixes at all and the notification is premature. (Editor's Update: In reality it appears that that problem I had was with my own 'browser's cache/cookies - "who would of 'thunk' it.) I will do my best to keep an eye on my own profile and let you know when I see the fixes impact it.
In the mean time, check your own profile and post a comment to this article either way. If the features are fixed on your profile, let us know. If the features are NOT fixed on your profile, let us know that too. If all of our readers participate, we can get a good idea as to the implementation of these fixes.
