First Look Friday - OIS Mobile Sales Solution

OIS Mobile, a product of Orders In Seconds, Inc., is a mobile sales solution designed for wholesalers, manufacturers and merchandisers that now offers connectivity with QuickBooks via their OIS Connect App. They have recently been certified and listed within the Intuit App Center.

Functionality

The following is a synopsis of interesting facts and features associated with the product, it is not intended as an in-depth review of the product. 

With OIS your sales personnel will have access to a complete catalog of product offerings formatted to display your products in the best way possible for buyers. Your product list will sync back-n-forth between OIS and QuickBooks to keep your information up-to-date.

High-quality graphics and meaningful product descriptions make the catalog functionality not only easy-to-browse but also help to insure the right product is purchased every time. 

The illustration below shows you some of the flexibility you have in organizing your products for maximum ‘sale ability’ in OIS.

Catalog options mean that a product offered in multiple sizes can be displayed so as to permit selection of the appropriate size without confusion.

When it is time to initiate a sale, Sales Reps can simply pick the customer from their established route list, with options to search including the ability to select from customers 'previously visited', or those customers 'pending a visit'.

Then select the products the customer wishes to purchase. OIS will give you the opportunity to review in-stock quantities available, and also see items that are ‘on sale’ so that you can give your customer options they might otherwise not be aware of. You can easily increment the quantities and orders get processed instantly.

You can even capture your customer’s signature on orders to confirm their committed or booked orders.

As I mentioned earlier, you can assign customers and Sales Representatives to designated Sales Routes using OIS, but you won’t be doing that in QBO alone. This keeps customer information confidential to the assigned route sales person so that other sales personnel aren’t trying to steal another Rep’s customers.  I mean surely that would never happen, right? Well, not with OIS at least.

You can then easily optimize Sales Rep performance and track their success using the OIS Route Manager feature with GPS tracking.

By the way, you will notice that we have used illustrations from both ‘smartphone’ and ‘tablets’ to show you that the product will work with the devices your sales personnel are most comfortable with in the field.

You can also see the accomplishments of each of your sales people by using the Reports feature in OIS Mobile. In fact, even the sales people can produce reports based upon their own sales activities right from their mobile device, as shown below.

Connectivity with QuickBooks Online

While OIS Mobile connects with other accounting software, it easily connects to QuickBooks Online to keep your mobile sales data including customers, products and orders up-to-date with QBO. Our review was limited to QBO connectivity only.

Once you have signed-up for OIS Mobile and set-up your account, you will simply sign-in.

After signing-in click the 'Connect to QuickBooks' button.

Then sign-in to your Intuit QuickBooks account, and authorize Intuit to securely share your QBO data with OIS Connect in exactly the same what that QBO connects with any other OAuth compliant application approved within the Intuit App Center.

After the connection is secure, QBO and OIS will exchange your customer, product and transaction/order data.

Future sales you make in OIS will show-up in QuickBooks Online like your other Invoices in your Sales Transactions.

By the way, OIS reportedly offers connectivity with QuickBooks Desktop versions; however, we did not research or test that connectivity.

In Summary

OIS offers three different pricing plans with different feature sets per plan, ranging from $35/user/month (billed annually, or $45 mo-to-mo) to $65/user/month (billed annually, or $85 mo-to-mo). There are substantial differences between the various plans, so be sure to study each plan carefully before making a decision.

OIS offers free demonstrations of their products, and they also offer a free trial which you can sign-up for on their homepage; however, you must provide information including your name, email and phone.
