Intuit was founded 34 years ago with the simple mission of “creating products that would transform people’s financial lives."
That mission remains at the heart of the company as it takes on new and different approaches to accomplish the same goal.
While hosting events in New York City to showcase 20-plus new, in-market and experimental products that relate to how it is enabling the Intelligent Economy, Intuit has announced a new Practice Management feature fully integrated into QuickBooks Online for Accountants (QBOA).
The intent of the solution is to allow ProAdvisors, accountants, bookkeepers and consultants to track their work in the same place they get their work done, QBOA.

By working with Accountants over the years, Intuit has come to realize that the vast majority of accounting work is deadline driven, and there are an insane number of deadlines confronting accountants. Since there are paramount consequences for failing to meet deadline requirements, including the possibility of fines as well as losing a client, accountants need a way to make sure nothing falls through the cracks.
Depending on the size of an accounting firm, there are any number of ways that accountants and their team members are attempting to keep track of everything that needs to be done, and when it must be accomplished. Some make use of spreadsheets that are accessible by team members, some use calendaring systems, and others rely on large whiteboards as the most visible means of tracking workflow.

Not only is there complexity in the methods being used to track the tasks at hand, but there is a great deal of time being wasted in using these workflows. Finding the work to be done and selecting a task, switching focus and resources to the tools to do the work such as QuickBooks or a Tax product, and then switching back to the work-tracking tool(s) to enter updates of what has been accomplished, and what must be done next, is cumbersome at best.

Without a centralized approach, nearly twice as much time is being consumed in steps associated with doing the work as well as tracking the work.
The new Practice Management dashboard will help accountants streamline their workflow, and get an overview of all their workflows, while effortlessly tracking work progress across their team, so they can be confident that nothing will fall through the cracks and not a single deadline will be missed.

By incorporating Practice Management capabilities into QBOA, there is one less piece of software or App that is needed as part of their accounting or consulting practice because the practice component is now built into QuickBooks Online Accountant.
