Intuit has announced the discontinuation of the Intuit Sync Manager effective March 1, 2016. That’s right around the corner!
For customers currently using 3rd party applications that require the Intuit Sync Manager to synchronize their QuickBooks company file will no longer have access to the Sync Manager. That means those customers will no longer be able to sync their 3rd party app with their QuickBooks company file.
The great news is Intuit Field Service Management (IFSM) will not be affected by the discontinuance of the Intuit Sync Manager. IFSM does NOT use the “Intuit Sync Manager” to integrate with QuickBooks! We use the SDK with QB Desktop and the API with QB Online. The magical thing about using the SDK and the API is that NEITHER of those is the “Intuit Sync Manager”!
See the Technical Support KBA at http://support.quickbooks.intuit.com/support/articles/INF28440, for more information about Sync Manager's discontinuation, including the fact that FSM does not rely on Sync Manger.
Intuit Field Service Management for QuickBooks is a simple and powerful system that helps your installation, service, and repair businesses go paperless with cloud-based scheduling and dispatching, mobile app service history, invoicing and payments, GPS tracking, time tracking, and more. It’s a great solution for QuickBooks Desktop and Online customers in the Service industry. Also a great solution for Desktop users with a need for Field Service Management who are currently using an app that only synchronizes via the Intuit Sync Manager. ProAdvisors and Intuit Resellers should consider moving those users over to IFSM!!
