"Turn out the lights, the party's over." "They say that all, good things must end...1"
Intuit is pulling another country version of QuickBooks—from France this time.
Earlier this year, Intuit announced it had decided to withdraw QuickBooks Products from France. As a result, it will stop offering QuickBooks products and support in France for accountancy and small business customers as of Dec. 31, 2023.
It also has, in preparation for the product discontinuation, gone ahead and withdrawn the availability of apps on the QuickBooks App Marketplace in France to prevent new French users from connecting apps to QuickBooks. Accordingly, as of July 31, 2023, Developer-App listings became no longer discoverable within the French marketplace of the QuickBooks App Store.
Starting Jan. 1, 2024, QuickBooks users in France will no longer have access to their QuickBooks products, and their connections to QuickBooks integrations will no longer be available.
Impacted QuickBooks customers are being encouraged by Intuit to download their data and transition out of the product prior to Dec. 31, 2023.
According to the official notice (shown below) provided to French QuickBooks Users on its website, “If my rusty French is accurate,” advises that between Jan. 1, 2024, and March 31, 2024, French users still will be able to read-only their QuickBooks product data.

While I assume that QuickBooks users in France will have access after Dec. 31, 2023, to the global version of QuickBooks since it presently supports France in English; I don’t believe they can link their French data to the global version. It may be that one or more third-party data conversion companies will offer a migration path.
Otherwise, what happens after March 31, 2024, in regard to their accounting data is still in flux.
