In our Feb. 28, 2023 feature about the discontinuation of QuickBooks Point-of-Sale, we told you Intuit was working with Shopify to provide an alternative POS solution.
An early release version of Shopify's POS solution—designed to work with QuickBooks Desktop Financial Software—was available for testing at the time Intuit notified the public it was discontinuing QuickBooks POS support, effective Oct. 3, 2023.
Early indications were that Shopify's POS and payments solution would enable users to manage both in-store and online sales from a single platform with remote access, enhanced reporting, a modern interface and multi-channel selling.
Intuit has designated Shopify as its "preferred provider" to offer a POS solution integrating with QuickBooks Desktop.
