It's official: Sage's Pegg chat box has been integrated with Sage One.
The bot, developed in collaboration with San Francisco-based developer, Gupshup, uses AI technology to provide a “virtual accounting assistant.” Pegg enables users to submit expenses and track receipts, and monitor who's late on paying an invoice, via mobile messaging apps (think Facebook Messenger and Slack).
Before marketing it in other countries, the U.K.-based company is launching the capability in the United States first. Sage said that since its launch six months ago, 20,000 customers in 110 countries already are using Pegg as early adopters.
In addition, Sage is introducing Sage People, a cloud-based human capital management system for midsize businesses. Along with users in the United States, it also is available in Canada, the U.K., and Australia. Other countries will be added down the line.
The move comes on the heels of the integration of its cloud-based accounting software, Sage 50c, with Microsoft Office 365.
