You already know that QuickBooks Online Accountant integrates with Intuit's ProConnect Tax. But did you know you can conveniently access years of client tax transcripts from Intuit ProConnect Tax via IRS Transcript direct access? And that IRS Transcript direct access is included with ProConnect Tax at no extra cost?
ProConnect Tax has added a new Transcripts tab to the Client Profile screen. From this tab, you can connect to the IRS, provide the appropriate client information and download IRS transcripts for your clients.
Please know that to download a client's transcripts, you must have their authorization on file with the IRS. Client authorization requires filing the Client's signed Form 2848 or Form 8821 with the IRS.
While you can complete and obtain client eSignatures on the appropriate authorization forms within ProConnect Tax, they must be filed with IRS Transcript Direct separately for each Client. They cannot be e-filed via the new ProConnect Transcript feature.
