AutoEntry is marketed as an intelligent cloud-based solution which eliminates manual data entry for accountants, bookkeepers and small businesses. AutoEntry is available as a web or mobile App which captures and analyzes data from scanned and photographed receipts, invoices, bank and credit card statements and more, and then securely imports this information into QuickBooks.
My Test Receipt
I must admit, the very first receipt I tried to process I simply thought took too long to parse and prepare for update to QuickBooks. But I didn't give up on AutoEntry, I kept working with it, and the more I used it the faster everything went. I guess it's a lot like my Dragon Dictation software, it has to learn some of my many idiosyncrasies before it really gets to know me.

By the way I will mention here that their Customer Support responded very quickly to my inquiry when I ask about the length of time to process that first invoice. I like 'quick' responses, so that's definitely a plus for AutoEntry.
Intuit's App Center product page for AutoEntry says it is designed to help eliminate manual data entry for bills, receipts, sales invoices, bank and credit card statements and more. With AutoEntry you are able to scan, snap or email a copy of almost any document you want to capture, then AutoEntry will extract and analyze your data.
Once it is finished with the capture and parse of your data the item(s) appear in your inbox (as shown below) for you to approve so you can then sync them with QuickBooks Online.

In the case of the example (below) you can see that this was a fairly complex Invoice that got uploaded to AutoEntry and all the data matches up. In other words, AutoEntry parsed the data without issue based upon that 'machine learning curve' it developed over multiple data scans.

AutoEntry integrates seamlessly with QuickBooks (Online) and posts the extracted data based upon how you configure your data to flow into QBO from AutoEntry. The illustration below shows a portion of the 'mapping' between AutoEntry and QBO.

DON'T MISS THIS AutoEntry indicates within their support website that QuickBooks requires 'payment types' to be configured prior to attempting to send any data from AutoEntry to QBO. Just keep that in mind when you are either trying out their 'free trial' or setting up your full subscription.

AutoEntry is a smart solution that remembers how someone categorizes their expenses so they won't ever have to categorize them again. iT will even sync vendor bills (invoices) to open purchase orders.
AutoEntry is presently designed to work with QuickBooks Online, but they are currently testing their integration with selected QuickBooks Desktop customers. They reportedly will begin offering THEIR desktop integration in the near future.
Despite the substantial functionality of this data capture engine, which does have a learning curve (a 'machine learning curve'), AutoEntry offers fair and flexible pricing. As you know I try to never specifically talk 'price' in these App Reviews, but you can find out specifics on the AutoEntry website. AutoEntry uses a credit (or what I like to think of as a 'token') pricing approach rather than tie you into fixed monthly subscriptions per company. Your pool of credits can be used across multiple companies and document types, just like when you use tokens for different games and attractions at Chuck-E-Cheese.
iF you want more information about AutoEntry, then see their website, their Intuit App Center page, or start a free trial.
