The window to recertify is May 6 through June 30, 2024
The pace of innovation is happening faster than ever. The past year has brought a wave of change, from AI to automation and beyond. QuickBooks has shipped hundreds of feature enhancements and launched new products, including QuickBooks Ledger. It can feel daunting to keep up.
Recertification is a vital way to keep your product knowledge sharp so that you can work efficiently and guide clients on their technology — all while positioning yourself as a trusted advisor.
This year’s recertification window is May 6 - June 30th and there are a few ways to prepare for the short exam:

Find out if you need to recertify
To find out if you need to recertify, visit the ProAdvisor Training tab within QuickBooks Online Accountant. If you were certified before November 1, 2023, you will need to pass the recertification exam to maintain your certified status and current ProAdvisor program benefits.
If you’re Advanced QuickBooks Online Certified, you’ll need to pass the Advanced Recertification Exam to maintain both your Online and Advanced certifications.
We recommend setting aside 30 minutes for the Online exam, and 45 minutes for the Advanced exam. However, your familiarity with QuickBooks Online will heavily influence the time it takes for you to certify.
Explore the benefits of recertification
By recertifying, you’ll prove your expertise on QuickBooks Online to maintain your Certified status and current ProAdvisor Program benefits.
But the benefits of Recertification extend well beyond the near team — especially for firm leadership.
The beating heart of employee morale is the knowledge that they are valued, especially by leadership. Investing in employees’ continuing education demonstrates an investment in their long-term future at your firm and an implicit understanding of their value to the business.
Choosing to ignore continuing education can lead to attrition: A 2022 McKinsey study found that lack of career development and advancement was the top driver (41%) for quitting their previous jobs.. The Wharton School of Business also notes, “Attracting and retaining talent has always been important, but it’s likely to become an increasingly critical business strategy due to labor shortages.”
What does this mean for you? Simply part of keeping your team happy is investing in their continuous learning and adopting a culture of growth and development. Allowing your team the time and space they need to recertify on QuickBooks Online is a vital way to ensure they have the necessary product knowledge to work efficiently and can also help foster a stronger team culture.
Make this your best year yet
By investing in your career and firm by keeping your product knowledge up to date, you’ll build a foundation for long-term stability and growth. To formally recognize your expertise on QuickBooks Online, recertify by taking the short exam in the ProAdvisor Training tab by June 30 2024 at 11:59 pm PT. Your ProAdvisor team and community are cheering you on!
