This is to remind you there will be a price increase in some QuickBooks products that begin implementation on Aug. 1, 2023. The information is current according to the last official information I had from Intuit.
The price increases are a result of pricing pressures Intuit is facing from various sources. It also will make continued investment in R&D possible so that products remain at the forefront of innovation and functionality.
QuickBooks Online Price Increases
- On Aug. 1, 2023, QuickBooks Online Self-Employed (new subscriptions) and QuickBooks Online Essentials or Plus client-billed subscriptions will increase by $5 per month over the pre-8/1/23 monthly base price.
- On Sept. 1, 2023, QuickBooks Online Self-Employed (subscriptions in existence prior to 8/1/23) and QuickBooks Online Essentials or Plus accountant-billed subscriptions will increase by $5 per month over the pre-8/1/23 monthly base price.
Prices for QuickBooks Simple Start and QuickBooks Online Advanced are not changing on either Aug. 1 or Sept. 1.

Existing subscribers to impacted versions who have an active promotional discount will not experience a price change until their existing promotion expires. When the promotion expires, the monthly subscription rate will be adjusted to match the price increase(s) noted above.
QuickBooks Online Payroll Price Increases
In addition, prices for QuickBooks Online Payroll Core per-employee monthly fee and QuickBooks Online Payroll Premium base price are changing as shown in the chart below.
- On Aug. 1, the per-employee monthly fee for all QuickBooks Online Payroll Core client-billed subscriptions will increase by $1 per month per employee over the pre-8/1/23 monthly per employee per month price. In addition, QuickBooks Online Payroll Premium base price client-billed subscriptions will increase by $5 per month over the pre-8/1/23 monthly base price.
- On Sept. 1, the per-employee monthly fee for all QuickBooks Online Payroll Core accountant-billed subscriptions will increase by $1 per month per employee over the pre-8/1/23 monthly per employee per month price. In addition, QuickBooks Online Payroll Premium base price accountant-billed subscriptions will increase by $5 per month over the pre-8/1/23 monthly base price.
Prices for Payroll Elite are not changing on either Aug. 1 or Sept. 1.

Intuit will continue to offer ProAdvisor Preferred Pricing for online payroll subscriptions.
In addition, Intuit will offer clients who pay for their own subscriptions an annual billing option. They will be able to save 10%* by switching to annual billing by going to Billing and Subscriptions and selecting Annual Billing.
QuickBooks Payments Pricing
QuickBooks Online Payments prices are changing as indicated below. The new pricing plans feature no fixed transaction fees.
- Prices for new QuickBooks Online Payments customers go into effect on Sept. 5, 2023.
- Existing QuickBooks Online Payments customers will be moved to the new pricing or migrated to the Pay-as-you-go plan, in phases between September and October 2023. Customers will be notified before changes are made.

Standard Plan pricing applies to customers who directly subscribe for Payments, not through a ProAdvisor.
For ACH payments:
- New QuickBooks customers who add Payments on or after Sept. 5 will have the no-cap ACH plan.
- New QuickBooks customers who add payments through an accountant or QuickBooks Solutions Provider will have a $10 cap as they already are receiving preferred pricing.
- Existing Payments customers who move to the new pricing will keep ACH with a cap.
Intuit also has advised that pricing for both QuickBooks Desktop products and QuickBooks Desktop Payroll products will be announced during August 2023.

Other Intuit regions or countries may be impacted by price changes during the same (or alternative) time periods.
