Captova Technologies is unveiling Scanov, its best-in-class Artificial Intelligence (AI) programming that enables paper-to-data capture in seconds. Scanov syncs with QuickBooks instantly, allowing organizations to eliminate errors, and save time and resources.
By mere coincidence (or maybe not – it simply could be a "Mind of Murph" thing), I featured Scanov as one of three Murph's Picks (apps) either from (or since) "Scaling New Heights 2017". These three apps either caught my eye on the conference exhibit floor or I heard about them at the conference, and subsequently followed up.
Well, as I said, Scanov is advertising this technology as "the world's fastest" data capture engine for exporting bills, invoices and receipts to QuickBooks Online. Whether it is the "fastest on the planet" is up to your assessment, but I've seen it 'n action and personally think it is "faaaaaast"
What's the definition of light speed?
In reality, Scanov is an inexpensive configurable robot that automates tedious time-consuming manual data entry while improving accuracy.
While many other transaction to data service providers rely on workers (frequently offshore) to verify the data or determine irregular corrections, Scanov’s automation and robotic process is the next generation of analog to digital data conversion.
You can snap or scan your paper receipts, bills and invoices with a mobile device or scanner, and then upload images to Scanov via the web or in one step directly via an integrated Canon scanner. You also can transmit your documents via email (in PDFs and/or e-receipts).

Scanov crops and deskews the image, and then extracts the data from the image using its proprietary OCRIN data capture engine. OCRIN’s AI is further expanded using something called Zonald templates. These templates permit customization of receipt and invoice formats to insure that key data elements are captured with the degree of details you need and want.
Once all the automation is performed, Scanov displays everything on its "Capture Screen,“ where you can verify and/or edit the captured data in preparation for your "Sync with QuickBooks.”
You'll be able to make selections from drop-down lists from your QuickBooks configuration so that you can categorize your invoices or receipts exactly the way you want them to appear within your accounting set up.
Next, you click on "Export to QuickBooks” and you're done.
Scanov not only exports the data, but also the image of the source document to your QuickBooks Online company.
