Editor's Note: February's editorial focus is on Time-tracking. Here, Murph takes a look at another time-tracking app. All told, he will be unveiling up to 60 articles for products that work with QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop.
While many people will consider SherpaDesk as "help desk" software, it also gives you the ability to track time on your accounts, support issues, projects or assets. You can easily record your time whether you are at your desk, in the field or at home.
Using a convenient Chrome extension, you can capture time whenever you work outside of the SherpaDesk platform. All you need is access to the web. With SherpaDesk’s mobile apps, your employees can track their time from anywhere they have mobile connectivity. It even features an add-in command for your email program that automatically captures the time you spend when your emailing clients (or responding to their emails).
In addition, SherpaDesk’s team calendar gives you a calendar view of where your team is working and what they are assigned to do. You will be able to see a list of all their to-do agendas and filter it by Accounts, Clients and Projects for any specified period. And SherpaDesk will sync with Google Calendar.
The project management features help you organize client support requests, tasks, time logs, expenses and notes so you can track all your time, costs and progress. You will have immediate visibility into progress on any project with real-time data on time and costs in relations to budgets and timelines.
And with with SherpaDesk's reporting, you can stay on top of the metrics that matter. In addition, you can keep track of billable hours per technician, client or project; and review your company’s response and completion performances.
SherpaDesk supports both QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop solutions. You can sync time, staff payments and invoices. It also enables you to map your customer data on the fly. When pushing time over to QuickBooks, you are able to either map or build your customers and task type.
