Way back when Insightful Accountant was first starting out I was writing about products that I knew and was actively using, and one of those was my choice in integrating ECommerce with QuickBooks... I'm talking about Webgility. So, in June of 2013 I wrote a feature telling you all about how Webgility's eCC product expanded your website shopping cart or migrated your multi-online sales channels into a stream of digital data that could flow into QuickBooks the way you wanted your data because of the great ability to customize the integration.
Webgility also also integrated with your freight software and allowed you to not only generate shipping labels but to track your shipping costs, and shipping tracking numbers, then post those back up to your websites or sales channels so your customers could be aware of their order status.
One of the best things about Webgility way back then was that it worked with so many different shopping carts and sales channels, and it also worked with QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online and even QuickBooks Point-of-Sale.
Since that article, every time I have written about ECommerce or the topic of shopping cart, sales channel integration or similar subjects, Webgility has always been included in may list of recommended products. In fact, I still have multiple clients who still make use of Webgility every single day to integrate their ECommerce operations with QuickBooks and each one of them is as satisfied with their version of Webgility today as they were with that initial version I installed for them way back when.
Early on, most ECommerce vendors had a good idea of what they were going to sell, it was typically the same products they sold in their brick-n-mortar stores. What they needed was simply a way to get the information in the shopping care for their Webstore into their accounting software in a manner that preserved their inventory, their pricing, costs, and their sales tax tracking. Exporting orders from shopping carts, processing those manually, and then entering the data into their accounting was time consuming, cumbersome and too often full of errors.

Webgility Dashboard (2020)
Back in 2007, Webgility set out with the goal of helping ECommerce vendors save time and money by automating the flow of data between sales, accounting, inventory, and shipping—eliminating manual data entry, reducing errors, and centralizing financial data. Today, as the leading provider of ECommerce automation software, Webgility manages millions of transactions for thousands of online stores every month.
It seems so much has changed over the years, and if it seems that way for me, I can only imagine the way it must seem for the folks at Webgility as they have grown in so many ways. One of those ways is in the various ECommerce integrations they now offer. You might be using X-Cart or OpenCart, or perhaps you use Pinnacle Cart or BigCommerce. Maybe you work with the Amazon, Ebay or Walmart marketplaces. Of course, Webgility does support Magento, Shopify, Volusion and WooCommerce just to name a few more, along with Etsy, Newegg, Rakuten and Reverb. Really, there are many others. You can surely guess that the integrations team at Webgility stays busy working on new tasks each day just to keep ahead of the requests they get from new clients. And if you need help in linking your ECommerce platform or marketplace to Webgility, rest assured that there is expert assistance to guide you every step of the way.
As I mentioned, when I was starting out using Webgility it was focused solely on bringing ECommerce data into QuickBooks (Desktop, Online and POS), but that too has changed over the last few years. Webgility now supports Xero and NetSuite as well as the QuickBooks products I mentioned. It also works with both Shopify and Square Point-of-sale systems. This gives you a wider opportunity to support more clients with a wide range of accounting and point-of-sale inventory-centric options if you are an accountant, advisor or consultant supporting vendors in ECommerce.
But I want to remind you now of some of the reasons why Webgility was, and still is a best in class ECommerce integration engine when it comes to automating the flow of data between sales, accounting, inventory, and shipping.

But ECommerce is a lot different these days then in days past as well, I would venture to guess that the majority of ECommerce vendors don't even have brick-n-mortar stores like those early vendors who first ask me to set-up Webgility for them. Today's ECommerce vendors are dealing over the Internet exclusively and many of them never even use a desktop or laptop computer, so they maybe running Webgility and their accounting software along with their ECommerce solutions all via a hosted environment, or cloud based application network.
Not only does Webgility partner with Right Network, iNSynQ and Skyline hosting solutions, but they now are offering 'Webgility Mobile' which lets you grow your business from anywhere by seeing your order history, your operational insights, your top-rated products, as well as look at transactional details and business metrics. Webgility Mobile
Back in 2013 I told you that 'I had found Webgility to be a very beneficial solution to integrate ECommerce with QuickBooks...' and that their product did exactly what they advertised and more often then not would fit your needs. My opinion hasn't changed in the 7 years since, and from the latest I have seen about the product my prediction from back then came true as well. They have continued to update and upgrade their product and continues to lead the way in capabilities and functionality they make available to their customers such that they are still an outstanding product doing exactly what they claim to do when it comes to integrating your ECommerce platform(s) with your (compatible) accounting solution.
