Editor's Note: February's editorial focus is on Time-tracking. Here, Murph takes a look at another time-tracking app. All told, he will be unveiling up to 60 articles for products that work with QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop.
Now, you are going to find that Telephone Timesheets is an unusual time-tracking app because, well, it is not necessarily an app at all. You can use an app if you want, but either way, Telephone Timesheets allows you to track employee time and location using any telephone.
It is an app-less, self-learning, time tracking solution.
There is no setup or training involved. If your employees can make a phone call and respond to a text message, they can track their time.
Using this simple method, your employees will check themselves in and out on the clock, and you will get reports of each of the hours they worked per job. It is ideal for field-based employees who need to check in and check out through a landline or mobile phone.
Telephone Timesheets provides time tracking, scheduling and automated daily operations for mobile workers. It allows your employees to clock in and out, start and end breaks, start and end travel time, and submit mid-shift reports.
In addition, it also allows managers and field supervisors to monitor daily operations from any device, playing the role of a virtual command center operator—watching schedules and employee activity every minute of every day, and taking action automatically according to your business rules. This includes things such as calling an employee or texting a supervisor when a scheduled shift does not start on time.
Telephone Timesheets supports integration with popular payroll systems like QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online. These integrations allow you to import and synchronize your employees, customers and other data. You will never have to manually enter timesheet data in order to run payroll—it exports this data to QuickBooks with a mouse-click.
For more details about QBO integration, check out the Telephone Timesheets user reference here. If you plan on using QuickBooks Desktop, take a look at this section of the user reference. You also will find Telephone Timesheets listed in the QBO App Store here.
