No, I don't have my very own testing lab. I don't have time to test out each and every product that comes out. And no, I don't have anyway to bombard these products with one thousand different viruses to check them out.
But what I can do is review six or eight different resources that I routinely read about (sources who have high paid staffers and the resources to afford independent testing labs), and then tally those results to create our own "best in breed" anti-virus software list.
So, here is our Top 10 (from 10-1). By the way, there maybe multiple products that tied in the scoring, therefore they are ranked together.
Numbers 10 through 6:
Anti-virus 10-6 (rev)
Here are Number 5 thru 2:
Anti-virus 5 thru 2
And Our No. 1 Anti-Virus Software:
Anti-virus Number 1
While we recognize you may totally disagree with our rankings, remember, we compiled these from numerous sources using the same criteria and scale. So like them or not, they are what they are for this year.
QuickBooks Compatibility – Intuit reported, as late as its 2017 Desktop System Requirements, that it has tested QuickBooks Pro, Premier and Enterprise with only the following anti-virus products:
- Avast
- AVG
- Symantec
- ESET
- Avira
- Kaspersky
- McAfee
- Bitdefender
- Malwarebytes
From this list, you can see there are several of the products listed in our Top 10 that are not included within Intuit's testing. Despite our rankings based upon compiled results, you're advised to consider Intuit's recognized list when using or recommending anti-virus software on computers or within installations in which QuickBooks Desktop products will be running.
