During these days of malware invaders, I've been trying to keep you updated on software (and sometimes hardware) that can protect your computer and computer networks against vicious malware.
There are some very good anti-malware technologies out there that can help ProAdvisors detect and remove many forms of malware from their computer networks.
When malware takes over your computer, you need software you can trust, even when it's not already installed or prior to the installation of anti-virus/malware software. Why? Because many forms of malware interfere with or prevent the installation of anti-virus programs.
Here are six of the best for 2017, listed in random order and not based upon any ranking:
Malware Emerg Software - 2017 - 01
Malware Emerg Software - 2017 - 02
Please note that all of these programs do not perform the same tasks. Some are more limited in scope. For example, Emsisoft is a clean-up only software that can resolve many malware infections. On the other hand, RogueKiller doesn't actually remove malware, but terminates malicious processes so that offending malware can be removed.
ProAdvisors must be aware of their specific malware issues and select products that specifically tackle what's needed. In the event you're uncertain how to proceed, contact your local cyber-malware specialist or IT consultant.
Do all of these work? Well, they basically do what they say they can. Do any of them have flaws? Yes. Most of these cheap or free programs have some problems from time to time, but remember why you're using them.
You're using them when malware already has your computer or network seriously compromised, and, in many cases, is unusable. For the most part, these programs are not used for day-to-day malware prevention.
Editor's Note: The list of products in this article has not changed since they originally were listed in our article in fall 2015. All of these products have been updated on an on-going basis and have consistently been recognized time and again over the last 18-plus months in various 'top product' listings. Because of the rise and increasing severity of malware activity, I feel it's worthwhile to bring this list back to your attention.
