QuickBooks Accountants and ProAdvisors now have greater flexibility and control over the payment process for their clients' subscriptions to QuickBooks and QuickBooks plug-ins, such as payments and QBO payroll.
Using QuickBooks Online Accountant, you can select the most appropriate billing methods for each QuickBooks product based on your agreement with your clients and their wishes.
Previously, QuickBooks Accountants and ProAdvisors had to choose whether to bill all of their QuickBooks Online subscriptions and related plug-in service subscriptions to their firm on behalf of the Client or have them all billed directly to the client.
Because of the variability of some subscriptions, like QuickBooks Bill Pay and QuickBooks Payments, as well as QuickBooks Online Payroll, many ProAdvisors and Accountants felt those plug-in subscriptions should be billed directly to their clients. In contrast, the base QuickBooks Online subscription should be billed to them, which they either bundled into their service package or incorporated into their line-item billing to the client.
In this first modification of the billing options, you can manage who gets billed for what for QuickBooks Payments, QuickBooks Online Payroll, and QuickBooks Time (Workforce). Late this year, you will have the same options over QuickBooks Bill Pay.
To access this new level of billing control, go to Subscriptions and billing after you have logged into your QuickBooks Online Accountant subscription. From there, you can select the most appropriate billing option for each QuickBooks-related subscription your client currently has.
